Two-component injection moulding
Two-component moulding combines materials or colours within a moulded part. The component, material pairing and tooling determine the appropriate manufacturing route.

Project-specific capability review
Do not assume that the full capacity range of a standard injection line applies to a two-component project. Provide the geometry, component weight and material split for assessment.
DFM and tooling
The review considers the part geometry, interface between materials and tooling requirements before sampling and serial production.
Material pairing
Specify both grades where they are known and explain the required function of each material. Include the mechanical, thermal and environmental conditions and any required bond between them.
Alternative manufacturing routes
Overmoulding, insert moulding or assembling separate parts may also be considered. The choice depends on the design and intended function, rather than the number of materials alone.
Finishing and documentation
Identify any finishing or assembly operations and customer-required quality records as part of the enquiry.
Production operates under ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and AQAP 2110.
